Born in Beit Mery in 1972, Roy ABOU CHEDID is a successful lawyer, he holds an LLB from La Sagesse University, a post graduate diploma in business Law from Montpelier University. He began practicing law in 1995, founded " A&A Law firm" one of the most reputable law firms in Lebanon in 2005 and A&A international consulting in Canada – Montreal in 2013.

Since his early childhood he was committed to support and provide assistance to others, he has been a boy scout at SDL organization for more than 20 years, a first aider at the Lebanese Red Cross for more than 8 years, a speleologist at the G.E.R.S.L. since 1990 and he is also a member of several charity and social association.

Roy was elected as a member of the municipality of Beit Mery in 2010, his generosity of spirit that puts the needs of others ahead of the needs of himself, his exceptional leadership talents, his vision of the community future, his managerial skills in addition to his strong and admirable character led to his election as Mayor of his home town Beit Mery in 2016.

As a Mayor Me. Abou Chedid has achieved a lot up-to-date in a very short period. In fact, he has implemented an innovative zero waste management program, the first of its kind in Lebanon and made Beit Mery the first "zero waste" municipality in Lebanon. He also initiated the mechanism of the sort of waste from the source that became mandatory for the citizen of Beit Mery.

On the other hand and in order to preserve the nature, He's encouraging the afforestation and took an active part in planting over 400 trees in Beit Mery. Moreover, he has organized several events to which all the family members can take part and enjoy, among them the Beit Mery by bike, and the Christmas event "Beit Mery en Fête" which includes many attractions and live shows and is open to public on a free entrance basis.

Mr. Abou Chedid has re-launched the twinning process between the Municipality of Beit Mery and the French Municipality of Courbevoie, in this respect He has implemented a garden in Beit Mery under the name of Courbevoie opened to the public without any entrance fees as the latter has done in France.

Roy Abou Chedid has a strong belief that good things and changes can be accomplished and there are plenty of good people to contribute to such accomplishments, and he will make every required effort to achieve the goals he sets successfully.
