New York, NY - A delegation from LARP met on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the United Nations headquarters in New York City with Mr. Andrei Abramov, Chief NGO Branch at ECOSOC. The meeting focused on LARP's application for consultative status with ECOSOC. Mr. Abramov said LARP had provided all of the required documents and the application would come up for review in May. Joining Mr. Maalouf at the meeting was LARP Board member Mr. Haleem Zihenni, who will follow up on our request and attend the approval meeting in May.
LARP is committed to supporting the civil society and civic institutions of Lebanon, to lifting up the spirit of the Lebanese people, and assisting the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other agencies of the United States in their effort to promote economic growth and to foster peace, stability and democratic institutions in Lebanon in an effort to enhance the sovereignty and freedom of Lebanon.
