The Honorable Jeffrey Grieco

Jeffrey Grieco is an independent foreign policy consultant with senior leadership experience within the U.S. Government and international private sector. He provides international investment, trade, development and government relations services to U.S. and multinational corporations, international donor,and non-profit organizations, as well as research and think tanks. Mr. Grieco meets frequently with Administration and Congressional leadership and professional staff concerning US. foreign policy and international assistance programming. He has testified before Congress and is a frequent speaker at foreign policy, national security and international conferences dealing with such diverse issues as Afghanistan, humanitarian response, Iraq, Sudan, Ukraine, the stabilization of fragile or failed states, refugee and IDP crises, international health security/biodefense, and managing challenges in the Middle East.

As a U.S. Senate-confirmed Presidential appointee with Top Secret Security Clearance, he served as Assistant Administrator for Legislative and Public Affairs at the U.S. Agency for International Development/U.S. Department of State during the Administration of George W. Bush. He managed Agency public affairs and Congressional relations through a particularly difficult period in the post-9-11 foreign policy environment and served as the Administrator's official representative for all Congressional and public affairs activities. His diplomatic portfolio dealt with USAID's $20+ billion humanitarian and development portfolio and programs in more than eighty countries.

Prior to joining USAID, Mr. Grieco served as international government relations and business development counsel for major multinational corporations such as Westinghouse ESG, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Hyundai, AT&T, and many other corporations providing consulting services in 25 countries.

Mr. Grieco graduated from Georgetown University's Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service where he obtained a Master's Degree in Foreign Relations in 1986. He received a fellowship for graduate studies in comparative international management at Oxford University's Templeton College. He received his undergraduate degree from George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs (1982).

Until recently he served as Deputy Chairman of the Society for International Development-Washington Chapter (SID-W), the largest trade association of the international development and humanitarian community. He currently serves on the Advisory Council of the International Stability Operations Association (ISOA) where he leads their Afghanistan and Ukraine Working Groups and travels to both nations frequently. ISOA is the largest association of private sector implementing organizations committed to the peaceful stabilization of fragile and failed state conflicts internationally. In addition, he currently also serves as the President/CEO of the Afghan-American Chamber of Commerce (AACC). In this role he works to assist U.S. allies inside and outside Afghanistan after the U.S. withdrawal, and is remains engaged to protect remaining U.S. and Afghan investments remaining inside Taliban-led Afghanistan.
