Dr. Wissam Raji
Dr. Wissam Raji is a professor of Mathematics at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He held the position of the chairperson of the department of Mathematics from 2013-2019. Dr. Raji graduated with an undergraduate degree of Mathematics from Notre Dame University in 2000 and then received his Masters degree of Mathematics from AUB. He then moved to the Philadelphia, USA as a PhD candidate and received his PhD in Mathematics at Temple University in 2006. He has been a visiting researcher in several universities such as Emory University, University of Virginia and Temple University. He has more than 30 refereed journal articles in addition to two books in Number theory and the theory of modular forms. Dr. Raji established the Center for Development, Democracy and Governance (CDDG) in Lebanon. The Center's mission statement is to promote sustainable development in different sectors. The Center received around USD 6 million during his tenure as President in the form of support for projects in rural areas in Lebanon. He is currently working as a consultant for several NGOs in Lebanon and is an advisor for LARC. |
