The Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership missions to Lebanon are organized in collaboration with a partner organization in Beirut. They are held at a premier hotel in downtown Beirut. Our foreseeable LARP III mission and goals are to help lift up the spirit of the Lebanese people and strengthen the bridge between the business community in Lebanon and its counterpart in the Diaspora. On each mission we choose a Lebanese emigrant business leader to head the trip and receive the Corporate Leader Award. We bestow the Lifetime Achievement Award on a government official who has made a difference in bettering Lebanese institutions. A local Lebanese leader receives the Business Service Award based on his/her efforts to bring the emigrants closer to their home land.

11:15 am Panel one
12:15 pm Panel two
1:15 pm Luncheon
3:15 pm Panel three
4:15 pm Media interviews with delegates
8:00 pm Reception & Gala Dinner (Awards presentation & main speaker)

Saturday
Field trip - LARP delegates only
9:00 am Pullman leaving from hotel
11:00 am Board meeting and election of officers for coming year
1:15 pm Farewell luncheon
6:00 pm Return to the hotel

Press Release - October 31, 2009 - Washington DC

Washington, DC - The Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership mission to Lebanon is scheduled for Fall 2011. It will be held at a premier hotel in downtown Beirut, Lebanon. This is our LARP III mission to help lift up the spirit of the Lebanese people and strengthen the bridge between the business community in Lebanon and its counterpart in the Diaspora. Three Lebanese emigrant business leaders have been nominated to be the Corporate Leader award. The LARP Board of Directors will choose one for this award and have nominated a government official for the Lifetime Achievement Award and local Lebanese leader for the Business Service Award.

The Board have nominated and elected Mrs. Rita Antoine Zihenni the moderator of the day's events. Following is the preliminary schedule:

Friday
10:30 am open ceremony
11:15 am Panel one - Electricity in Lebanon
12:15 pm Panel two - Environment & Improvement
1:15 pm luncheon - Speaker
3:15 pm Panel three - Education & Illiteracy
4:15 pm media interviews with delegates
8:00 pm reception & Gala Dinner (Awards presentation & main speaker)

Saturday
Spend the day in the Shouf - LARP Delegates only
9:00 am Pullman leaving to the Shouf from hotel
11:00 am board meeting and election of officers for 2010
1:15 pm Farwell luncheon
4:00 pm tour of Deir El-Kamar
6:00 pm return to the hotel

LARP received funding requests from the following organizations:

1) From: the Youth League for Lebanon (YLL)
For: A plantation project in Debel, South Lebanon

2) From: Beit El-Diafeh – Jounieh
For: Helping the poor, refugees, senior citizens, orphans and the sick

3) From: Our Lady of Perpetual Help School – Jisr El-Bacha – Al Kalaa
For: scholarship for little children whose parents cannot afford their education

4) From: Broumana Public School
For: a desperately needed heating system; the Ministry is not funding them

5) From: Saint Lebaa School for the Sisters of Charity – Hasroun
For: needy students, especially that the school is primarily free

6) From: Mar Abda School –Deir El-Kamar
For: the laboratory needs physics and chemistry equipment

7) From: the Municipality of Mazraat El-Daher
For: A desperately needed ambulance for the surrounding villages

8) From: Modern Science & Academic School – Dora
For: establish an English center for deprived children

9) From: Batroun Cultural & Technical Center
For: Training technical skills to uneducated kids
